Tubbergen in a nutshell

Tubbergen lies in the north-east of the Netherlands near the German border and stretches out over 36324,8 acre. It consists of nine villages: Tubbergen, Albergen, Geesteren, Fleringen, Harbrinkhoek-Mariaparochie, Langeveen, Manderveen, Reutum, Vasse and three townships: Haarle, Hezingen and Mander. It has 20.000 inhabitants. Most people live in the village Tubbergen, which is the geographic and administrative centre of the municipality. 

The area is very suitable for (nordic) walking, cycling and horse riding. Please contact the tourist office for more information.

Events

Each year, a number of major events are organized in Tubbergen. For example:

Glasrijk Tubbergen
Glasrijk Tubbergen is an annual event in the beginning of october, showing several exhibitions with stained-glass, sculptures, antique glass art, glass objects, glass design and interior. A captivating programm is presented with additional activities. Glasrijk is the biggest glass event in Holland.

CSI Geesteren
Every year in july, the international horse jumping event takes place in Geesteren. Guests from all over the world enjoy excellent horsesports in a thrilling atmosphere. The worlds best jumping riders compete with eachother during this 4 days event. Please visit their website for more information.


Shopping

The shops in Tubbergen are open mondays to fridays from 9:00 to 18:00. Saturdays the shops close at 17:00. Most shops close for lunch from 12:30 to 13:30. Mondays opening hours vary: some shops are closed in the morning, others in the afternoon. Supermarkets have longer opening hours.

Also there is a weekly market in Tubbergen, on tuesdaymorning from 8:30 to 12:30. The minimarket in Geesteren is on thursdayafternoons from 13:00 to 17:30, the minimarket in Albergen is on fridaymoning from 8:00 to 12:00.
